What we fix on the Switch controllers

  • Stick drift

    £50–£55

Moves on its own, or overshoots where you point it.

  • Broken buttons

    Price on request

    Sticky, unresponsive, or physically snapped.

  • Won’t charge

    £50

A worn charge port or a dead battery — we replace either.

  • Battery

    £45

Won’t hold charge, drains in an hour, or has swollen.

  • Ports & sockets

    Price on request

Charge ports, USB sockets and the connectors around them.

  • Liquid damage

    Price on request

Worth a go, but never a certainty. Best odds if it happened recently and it hasn’t been switched on since.

Worth knowing: success is not guaranteed on this one. We tell you the odds before you commit.

Every repair includes a clean

Whatever we come out for, your Switch controllers goes back cleaner than it arrived — dust out, fans cleared, fresh thermal paste on the way back together. That is part of the repair, not an extra, because the machine is already open and it would be daft not to.

  • Full strip-down clean

    +£20

Fans out, heatsink off, every vent cleared, fresh thermal paste. Sorts overheating, shutdowns mid-game and loud fans. The deep version of the clean every repair gets.

£55–£70 on its own. £20 with a repair, because it's already open.

  • Add-ons are offered when you book, and only alongside a repair.

Which Switch controllers do you have?

The generation matters more than the trim, because it decides which parts we carry. If you can't tell, it honestly doesn't matter — pick "I'm not sure" when you book and we work it out when we see it.

  • Joy-Con

The originals that slide onto the sides of a Switch.

  • Joy-Con 2

2025. Clip onto a Switch 2 magnetically rather than sliding.

  • Pro Controller

The standalone gamepad — Switch or Switch 2.

Here or back to the bench?

Nearly all of this we do at your door, on the bench in the van. Now and then a job turns out deeper than it looked once it's open — a board that needs stripping, or a fault that only shows itself after a few hours running. If yours is one of those we'll ask to take it back with us, and you'll hear that on the day, with a date for getting it back. Never afterwards.

Where we come to

Free in Crawley and Horley & Gatwick. £10 or £20 further out, added once per repair, not per visit, so a second trip costs you nothing.

We ring back usually within the hour, and always within 24 hours to agree a time. We work Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, and you're not booked in until we've spoken.

Switch controllers repair questions

Do you come to me to repair a Switch controllers?

Yes — that's the whole idea. We cover Crawley and the surrounding West Sussex and Surrey towns, and call-out is free in Crawley and Horley; further out there's a flat charge you see before you book. The repair happens in the van, which is fitted out as a workshop: a lit bench, a microscope and hot air — not somebody's kitchen worktop. Most jobs are finished in one visit and your machine stays with you. Now and then one turns out deeper than it looked once it's open. If that's yours we'll say so on the day and take it away, and you'll know when it's coming back.

How quickly can you come out?

We ring back usually within the hour, and always within 24 hours to agree a slot. We work Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. Same-day is sometimes possible but never promised — if it is urgent, ringing 07448 435702 is quicker than booking online.

Will I know the price before you start?

Always. The price you see is the price for the job as described. If we open it up and find the damage is more extensive, we tell you the new price before we go any further. If you'd rather not go ahead at that point, we put the console back together as it was and you don't pay for the repair. If we can't fix it, you don't pay for the repair.

What if you can't fix it?

Then you don't pay for the repair. Some faults — liquid damage especially — have genuinely poor odds, and we say so up front rather than taking your money to find out.

Is the repair guaranteed?

Yes, 90 days on the work we did and the parts we fitted. If the same fault returns in that time we come back and sort it.

Let's get it working again.

Five screens online, then one call from us. Tell us what it's doing, send a couple of photos, and pick when suits you.
